The Clean Energy Secretariat for the Islands of the European Union launched its first in April Call for Technical Support inviting EU islands to request technical support for their projects. From the formulation of strategic energy transition plans to grid integration studies, regulatory analysis or the search for funding: technical support aims to bring tailor-made solutions to all European islands whatever the stage of the transition they are in .
After this first call, the Secretariat will launch a second one in February 2022. Islands are invited first to use a self-assessment tool to refine the type of support they need and then to apply by filling in an online form that includes a description of the support services required, the expected impact of the project and the stakeholder team that takes responsibility for them. Full details on technical support and the application process are explained in the Guides for applicants.
The self-assessment tool is available , here for download while the online application form is accessible , here.
Islands are welcome to ask questions regarding the support provided and the application process by sending an email to info@euislands.eu. A webinar will be held on April 20, 2021 from 11: 00 to 12: 00 in which more explanations will be given on how to apply and to respond to requests received before April 16; during the webinar attendees will be able to ask questions live. The deadline for submitting applications for the first call is May 4, 2021 at 23:59 pm.
