Terna accelerates on the ecological transition with 18,1 billion in investments planned over the next 10 years, planning over 30 new infrastructure projects.
The objective of the new Development Plan, presented by the CEO Stefano Donnarumma, is to encourage the energy transition, the development and integration of renewable sources, with a 25% increase in investments compared to the previous Plan.
Donnarumma explained: "To achieve the decarbonization objectives that Italy and Europe have set themselves, it is necessary to know how to plan and carry out all the works that are indispensable for the concrete realization of the energy transition".
The planned investments include not only the reorganization of the infrastructures in the main metropolitan areas, but also the development of the networks in the islands currently not interconnected with peninsular Italy. Two new submarine cables are planned: one will connect the Island of Giglio with Tuscany, the other will connect the Island of Favignana with Sicily.
