The Minor Islands, thanks to careful ANCIM work, become part of the "73rd Inner Ultra Peripheral Area" created ad hoc by the Internal Areas Committee which met yesterday.
"We have reached this important milestone thanks to a precise work carried out by the ANCIM organization and by the 35 municipalities of the Minor Islands which, in a very short time, approved the resolution requesting inclusion in the new Internal Area, addressing everything to the competent Ministry . I really thank the Minister for the South and Territorial Cohesion, Dr. Carfagna for the commitment and for the happy intuition of creating this new Internal Area that goes to light up a further lighthouse on the Minor Islands, on the peculiarities and inconveniences that our territories live on a daily basis. Thanks also goes to the Councilor for the National Strategy for Internal Areas, dr. Gambacorta and all the staff who prepared the presentation of the candidacy ”declared the president of ANCIM and Mayor of Forio, Francesco Del Deo.
“This inclusion is particularly significant as it saw the participation of all 35 Municipalities of the Minor Islands for the establishment of a homogeneous development system. The benefits for the municipalities are already many, especially if combined with the particular recognition of all municipalities, including those in the center and north, among the southern areas. As a first step, around 11 million and 400 thousand euros have been allocated for the 73rd Internal Area, but in addition to this dedicated fund, the Municipalities included in the 73rd Internal Area can participate in all the calls already active, such as the one concerning the increase of pharmacy services, for the defense against forest fires and for other calls that are in progress. As ANCIM we are already working on a proposal of interventions that are particularly significant in the sectors of Healthcare, School and Transport ”concludes the ANCIM president, Francesco Del Deo.
