The Aeolian Islands will become "Green Islands" thanks to the 53 million euros allocated with the Pnrr. The council led by the mayor Riccardo Gullo for energy efficiency has awarded assignments to the designers for 160 thousand euros.
"They will concern - explains Mayor Gullo - the definitive and executive planning of energy efficiency interventions, sustainable mobility and adaptation to the impacts of climate change in the smaller islands, the protection and management of water resources, water networks and the modernization for the 'supplying. And also to raise the level of environmental protection, the recovery of paths and the protection of flora".
The assignments: Commitment of 43 thousand euros to the engineer Domenico Majolino of Messina, 35 thousand 728 euros to the engineer Antonio Pio D'Arrigo of Messina, 34 thousand 274 euros to the engineer Gaetano Merlino of Lipari, 28 thousand 463 euros to the engineer Giovanni Mollica of Lipari, 14 thousand 801 euros for the ROP (responsible for the sole procedure) Carmelo Meduri and administrative assistant Ivan Ferlazzo, 13 thousand 742 euros for ROP Carmelo Meduri and administrative assistant Osvaldo Saltalamacchia, the latter employees of the Municipality of Lipari.
Other interventions will concern urban waste with a collection system, composting plants, ecological islands, sustainable mobility with the public-private purchase of electric/hybrid vehicles, incentives for the purchase of electric scooters, bicycles and kick scooters; desalination plants, energy efficiency of public real estate assets; renewable energies with the construction of plants also with accumulation systems”.
Other projects will be carried out in synergy with the Metropolitan City of Messina and with the Aeolian archaeological park. They will concern the redevelopment of the Diana park in Lipari, the removal of architectural barriers on the beaches, the lighting of the Canneto promenade on the mountain side, the redevelopment of the urban area of Sant'Anna, the pitch and the gymnasium in the schools of Filicudi and reed bed etc. The quotas for the distribution of resources have been allocated to the Municipality of Lipari which includes the islands of Lipari, Stromboli with Ginostra, Vulcano, Panarea, Filicudi and Alicudi.
