With great satisfaction it is reported that the Ministry of the Environment and the Protection of the Territory and the Sea has financed four projects concerning the islands of Lipari, Filicudi, Alicudi and Vulcano for a total amount of about 4 million euros, presented by the Municipality of Lipari in the context of the call "Energy efficiency interventions, sustainable mobility and adaptation to the impacts of climate change in the smaller islands".
It's about the projects
- MEGALITERA - "Electric Mobility for Daily Move to Lipari and Technical Interventions to Improve the Current Water Network"
- ADELFI - "Combining recovery of paths and protection of flora on the island of Filicudi"
- ELPIDA - "Raising the level of environmental protection of Alicudi Island"
- THERASIA - "Protection and management of water resources and modernization of supply systems on the island of Vulcano"
which not only concern works and infrastructures of fundamental importance in order to guarantee essential services to the communities of the same territories but which have the fundamental objective of improving their quality of life in terms of energy saving and sustainable development and, therefore, reduction of costs as well as consumption and emissions, promoting an efficient use of energy in all sectors: that of mobility and transport, that of the use of the territory, through actions aimed at reconstituting conditions of natural and landscape equilibrium (soil protection, reconstitution of the fauna, recovery of the paths ...) and, of particular relevance, that of the water system, through the rehabilitation and modernization of the network, and the monitoring and control of the losses of the water distribution system and related energy consumption.
"I am proud of the great result achieved - says the Vice Mayor Gaetano Orto - for which I wish to thank the Director Mirko Ficarra and the Area Manager Carmelo Meduri for the work spent. We have reached a historic milestone for our community, one of the most important loans ever granted, which demonstrates how serious programming work is not only carried out but also has its effects over time: these works, in fact, will allow us to grow the territory with a right perspective for the future and, above all, we will finally have the opportunity to fill the imperfection of the water network, putting an end to the inconvenience with which many inhabitants live together, and to eliminate the problem of water losses, thus reducing waste and costs ".
