The decree launching the "Green Islands Program" has been published in the Official Gazette. This is a measure that uses 200 million euros from the funds of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) financed by the European Union Next Generation EU.
The program is aimed at promoting the improvement and strengthening, in environmental and energy terms, the 13 Municipalities of the 19 minor non-interconnected islands, through the implementation of integrated energy and water efficiency projects, sustainable mobility, waste cycle management, circular economy and renewable energy production.
The municipalities interested in the program are those of:
- Isola del Giglio, Capraia, Ponza, Ventotene, Tremiti Islands, Ustica and Pantelleria, in whose territory it falls into a single non-interconnected minor island;
- Leni, Malfa and Santa Marina Salina, all falling within the island of Salina;
- Favignana, Lampedusa and Lipari, in whose territory it falls on more than one minor island.
Municipalities will be able to submit projects by 13 April 2022, only electronically to the certified e-mail address: firstname.lastname@example.org
